A revenge knockout happens when you send in a Pokémon after one of yours faints and defeat the opposing threat before it can do more damage. Common tools include faster attackers, Choice Scarf users, priority moves, sturdy defensive checks, and speed control. Revenge killing is important because many offensive Pokémon cannot safely switch into an attack but can still remove a threat after a teammate has fallen. A good team should have several answers to fast or boosted opponents. Do not rely on one revenge killer only, because it may be weakened, trapped, or unable to handle a particular coverage move.
