PP is the limited number of uses assigned to each move. Each time the move is used, its PP normally decreases by one. PP can be restored using items, Pokémon Centers, or game-specific features, and some items can permanently increase a move’s maximum PP. If every move has zero PP, the Pokémon uses Struggle, a fallback move that damages the user as well. In long battles or challenge runs, PP management matters a great deal. Carry moves with reasonable PP and do not waste low-PP attacks on weak opponents when a reliable alternative is available.
