Coverage means using attacks that can hit targets your main STAB moves cannot handle well. For example, a Pokémon may use a secondary move type to threaten opponents that resist its primary type. Good coverage is not just about having many types; it should target realistic switch-ins and fit the Pokémon’s offensive stats. A move may be technically super effective but still weak if the user has poor stats for its category. Consider accuracy, power, priority, utility, and item choices too. Team-level coverage matters as much as individual coverage, because teammates can handle threats your Pokémon cannot.
