A movepool is the collection of moves a Pokémon can learn in a particular game. It includes level-up moves, TMs, breeding moves, tutors, transfer moves, and special methods where available. A Pokémon’s movepool strongly affects its role because it determines whether it has reliable STAB, coverage, recovery, setup, status, or support options. Two Pokémon with similar types and stats can perform very differently if one has better utility or stronger attacks. Move availability changes between games, so always use a database or in-game source for the correct title rather than relying on an old generation’s movepool.
